Laura Bowler, Project Manager
Dr. Laura Bowler attended the University of Winnipeg for her undergrad where she obtained an Honour’s in Biology and her 4-year Biochemistry degree, for which she received the Gold Medal. She attended Graduate School at the University of Manitoba with an NSERC scholarship and received her PhD in Medical Microbiology. Her research focused on chronic infections in Cystic Fibrosis patients. Near the end of her program she became interested in knowledge translation and public education of medical research. She currently serves on the advisory board for the Manitoba Center for Health Policy Research, is part of the Canadian Lyme Disease Research Network, and helps manage projects for Bad Science Watch.
Jonathan Paynter, Volunteer Coordinator
With a background in social work and counselling psychology, Jonathan has worked as a Registered Social Worker for a number of years in a variety of positions. Currently he does assessments for Criminal and Family Courts in Eastern Ontario, as well as counselling and family mediation. Jonathan has a strong interest in science and community involvement, which led him to volunteer for Bad Science Watch.
